Current State-of-the-Art Micro and Nanoscale Analytical Techniques

Analysis of small regions-of-interest and nanomaterials continues to be an active area of research that is bolstered by development of new analytical techniques and instrumentation with improved sensitivity and chemical resolution under robust conditions. As the field of analytical nanoscience continues to expand, so too does the need for developing and better understanding novel instrumentation geared towards achieving chemical speciation and imaging at the micro and nanoscale. This symposium will include speakers to highlight some current state-of-the-art instrumentation utilized in nanoscale analysis (potentially) including: ultrafast laser spectroscopy, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, nanoscale-secondary ion mass spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy coupled with in-situ Raman spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, magnetic resonance force microscopy, and similar high resolution tools.
